I saw this recipe on Martha Stewart's site, and it looked yummy! My family loves potatoes and beef but we haven't tried any shepherd's pie, ever. But beef and potatoes we love, so I gave it a try. Although I made some adjustments from the original recipe called for.
Ingredients:
4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 medium carrot, halved lengthwise
1 celery stalk, thinly sliced
1 large onion
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup tomato paste
2 pounds ground beef
1 cup whole milk
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup beef stock
salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 450. Boil potatoes with salt in a saucepan and cover. Cook until potatoes are easily pierced with a tip of a paring knife.
Meanwhile, heat oil in a heavy pot over medium-high.
Add carrots, celery, onion and thyme. Cook, stirring occasionally until vegetables are tender about 8-10 mins.
Add flour and tomato paste, cook, stirring, 1 minute.
Add beef, cook, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink, 6-8 minutes.
Add the beef stock bring to a boil and simmer, about 1 minute. Set aside.
Drain potatoes, return to pan, cook over medium stirring until liquid evaporated and a thin film covers bottom of pan.
Remove pan from heat, add milk and 1 cup cheddar cheese.
Mash until smooth, season cheddar potato with salt and pepper
Pour beef filling into a 13 by 9 inch baking dish. Drop dollops of topping over filling, spread to edges with a spatula. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake until topping is browned and filling is bubbling rapidly, about 20 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
Enjoy! :))

Persia Grill
It's been a while since we last tried a different resto. It was hard to choose because there are lots of restaurants at SM Skygarden, since hubby loves Kebabs, we tried Persia Grill.

Omakase
Hubby has been raving about this Japanese restaurant since our kumpare brought him there. We're not big on Japanese food, but this resto caught hubby! He wanted me to try their Dynamite Roll.. He said it's a different kind of Maki, and it tastes really good.
Now, this is the Dynamite Roll! It was indeed YUMMY!! It has this crunchy thing inside.. Then you dip it in its own special sauce.. yummmm... Of course, we ordered other dishes from their menu like their Salmon Sashimi, Heart and Seoul Maki (it has Kimchi inside that's why I got curious, unique eh?!) and Momoiro Udun, this seafood pasta is sooo good, so creamy..)

Holiday Rush!!!
We went Christmas shopping at World Trade Center bazaar and at SMX (I know, so late..). Thank God we didn't get into too much traffic and got lucky at parking spaces but we didn't have any help with the kids, just me and hubby and our 3 kids exploring the bazaars!! Hirap! Whew! We didn't wanna leave the kids at home eh.. It's Christmas so we should all be together!
Saturday at World Trade Center
Sunday, we went to SMX bazaar which i forgot to take pics!! When we went out it was still drizzling so it was cold outside Mall of Asia, I only took a few photos (love the background!).
Havin' fun at MOA, the mall was open 'til 12 midnight!
Hungry na sila nyan.. still makulit!
