Club Balai Isabel

I bought a voucher at Metrodeal.com last December 2011 for an overnight stay at Club Balai Isabel good for 4 persons with buffet breakfast, instead of P11,500 I got it for P5,750.  Then, I booked it last February 17 ( I just emailed Indochina Strings with my voucher and that's it! ) because the kids are going to have a long weekend.

Paseo

On our way home from Club Balai Isabel, we passed by Paseo.  I heard about this mall that has outlet stores, intriguing...  We had our late lunch there at Kanin Club, then, we saw John Lloyd Cruz and hi family having their lunch too!!!  I just had to take a picture with him..  I waited for him to finish his food before I asked for one..  Sweet...  I love him!

Kid's First Dental Visit

I never really thought about bringing my kids to the dentist, just to get their teeth checked. I've always thought that they should have a damaged tooth or an aching one at least before going to the dentist. Since, I thought their teeth are clean enough, I didn't plan on going to one. Yea, I know, so wrong!! hahaha!

Swimsuit Hunting?!

I don't know what got in to me, I've been looking at swimsuits lately..  As if I've shredded my "excess baggage"..  I'm still having a hard time getting rid of them!  I'm starting a new workout routine, I hope it works!
There are lots of local brands but Soak Swimwear got my attention.. From their striking colors and elegant designs..  They have lots of colors to choose from..  More ways to hide stretchmarks! LOL!

My Giselle Brown Ballet Flats

As soon as TOMS Philippines announced that they have the ballet flats in store, we immediately went to Trinoma.  I was actually having second thoughts on getting one because of the price...  So hubby said, "kunyari ka pa!" hahahahaha!

Happy Valentine's Daddy!! napilitan syang regaluhan ako! :)  LOVE YOU!

I had a hard time choosing..  Leather or linen?  Pink, black or printed?
These flats are slightly bigger than their usual TOMS shoes, but still comfy, buti umabot paa ko.. I got the smallest size..

Guest Blogger: Mr. David Haas

Mr. David Haas emailed me, asking if I can post his blog about cancer.  I immediately googled him and I found out that he's an "advocate for cancer patients and want to make a difference in their lives because cancer has devastated so many people in this world".  That's such a big responsibility for him and I'm overwhelmed that he chose me, my blog to help him spread the words about cancer.

This will be an eye opener for each of us about cancer.   I hope to see more of your insights and discoveries Mr. David Haas.

The Benefits of Exercise in Cancer Patients

The Benefits of Exercise in Cancer Patients
from: Mr. David Haas (http://about.me/haasblaag)
Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance Guest Blogger
Motivating the spirit, mind, emotions, and body to heal after a life altering diagnosis of cancer is essential for survival. Fitness promotes the healing process by offering the body a way to distress and detox. It increases energy levels in cancer patients and improves their quality of life. A regular fitness program will benefit cancer patients at any level of diagnosis whether one has just been diagnosed with cancer, going through chemotherapy, radiation, or in remission.

Studies have shown that patients who engage in light to moderate exercise can reduce nausea, reduce depression, have less sleep disturbances, and more overall energy. Patients who exercise during treatment times have less chance of becoming obese once in remission. Other studies suggest that cancer patients have a higher survival rate if they include some type of fitness program into their daily activities.

Cancer patients can become more fatigued and inactive during treatment times. Inactivity can lead to more fatigue and loss of muscle mass. Exercising is critical to helping the body build and maintain healthy muscle mass. Even patients with mesothelioma can find fitness beneficial. Since this disease affects the lining of the lungs and limits lung capacity exercise can help increase lung capacity. The flow of oxygen in the body also increases during aerobic activity. More oxygen to the body means increased energy levels. Increased energy levels can mean a better quality of life and sense of well-being.

A cancer patient, at any stage of diagnosis, should always consult with a doctor before beginning any fitness program. Once approved the patient should always begin with a warm-up and stretch to loosen up the body. Light exercises such as yoga, Pilates, and short walks are ideal exercises for cancer patients. These exercises are not strenuous and will help build healthy muscle mass. Frequent breaks can be taken should the patient feel fatigued during the workout. The patient can start and stop as needed until 30 minutes of exercise is completed.

Although these studies conclude that there is little risk to following an exercise program more studies and research can help medical professionals understand its positive impact. For more information on the benefits of physical activity in cancer patients visit.
