Andi's Moving Up Day

I underestimated my little girl.. I know she was doing well at school, but for the 4th quarter we weren't able to talk to her teacher so we didn't know that she's going to get a medal "Excellence in Literacy".  She was telling me about it but I just thought that she just wanted one because her kuya got one.. We were really surprised with her medal!  So proud of her!

The Moving Up Day at Sacred Heart School was not organized well.  First of all, there was no one to assist the parents at the gym, because we were assigned already to specific chair with our name on it.  We had to go around and look for our names.  Secondly, everybody was standing and walking around while the ceremony was on going..  But anyway, our daughter's going to dance  and get a medal so that got us excited again.  Of course, she danced so well even if she was the youngest, so energetic!
After her dance, I went up to her to change her clothes.  One of the teachers gave me her toga and flower necklace then I got back to my seat.  As we went back to her for the awarding, I noticed that she was sad (aside from having a slight fever), so I asked why she's sad, she said "she (pointing at the same teacher that gave us her stuff) wants to take my flower necklace, she said it wasn't mine".  Furious but still trying to calm ourselves, I asked the teacher what happened, she said she just took it because Andi's going to dance, LIE!  My daughter doesn't lie!  But I didn't confront her about this, we just talked to Andi but we can't put her back to her good mood... She was just sad the whole time..  I hate that teacher!!!
Oh well, it just helped us decide not to put her back to that school!  We were supposed to remember that day as a happy and special day but thanks to that teacher Andi will never forget what she did!!
Now, I only have a few pictures with Andi smiling..

(I still can't upload pictures.. will do soon..)

Sick Andi

My little princess is not feeling well...  She had a tummy ache slight fever this morning, so we gave her Dolan, I gave her a warm bath (my pedia recommends warm bath even when our kids have fever, it helps lower down their fever), gave her milk and then put her to sleep.
Hubby and I went straight to the badminton court 'cause we thought she's doing well already, but my mom kept on calling and texting as she was so worried about Andi.  Then off we went home, checked on Andi immediately.  She has no more fever but she said her tummy’s still aching, so her dad massaged her tummy and told him she’s okay.
Then, I asked her if she still want to go to her ballet practice, she said “Yes”.  I told her over and over that it’s alright if she can’t go to her practice because she needs to rest more, because she might not be able to dance ‘cause she’s still weak, but she insisted!  She still wants to practice!  She just loves ballet so much..
Up to now, we’re still not sure if her tummy ache was real or not.  We thought, maybe she just wants more of our attention??  Oh well, it’s better than having a real tummy ache.. Okay, more time for our little ate.. She’s the one who needs it the most..  It’s a good thing kuya Kian understands and Khloe is still a baby! Hehehe!

Red Velvet Cupcakes

I made red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for kuya Kian for his Gold Medal.  Of course, I colored the frosting red, it's his favorite color!  I loved the way it turned out super moist and not so sweet, just enough to add the frosting. Yum, yum!

They liked it! Yey! :)

SSS I.D

I applied for my SSS I.D last February to claim my Maternity Benefits.   The SSS is now issuing its enhanced Social Security Identification Card, which makes use of biometrics technology.
An active SSS member with at least one monthly contribution and SSS pensioners may apply for the new SS ID by filling out and submitting an SSS Form E-6 to the nearest SSS branch that has facilities for SS ID capture.         SSS Form E-6 must be submitted together with any of the following primary documents:
  • Passport
  • Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) card
  • Seaman's book
        In the absence of any of these documents, the applicant may present any two of the following documents, provided at least one document contains the applicant's photograph:
  • Driver's license
  • Valid National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance
  • School or company ID
  • Postal ID
  • Senior citizen card
  • Major credit card
  • Voter's ID
  • Savings account passbook
  • Alien certificate of registration
  • Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) member's record
  • Certification from the Office of Southern/Northern Cultural Communities or Office of Muslim Affairs
  • Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) card
Be sure to bring your primary documents or else you'll have to go back again!  I went to the nearest SSS Branch which is located at EDSA, Caloocan.  The branch was really crowded but they have lines for different concerns, you just might get a little lost because the line goes anywhere, so be sure to ask someone from the SSS which line you're suppose to go.  It didn't took me that long to be approved, the process was fast as long as your documents are complete.  But they don't have a camera there!!!  They asked me to go to the main SSS Branch at Diliman, Quezon City.  I went the next day to finish my I.D, but to my dismay, I was scheduled for the the finger print and image capture on March 16!  Because they said that it's the only branch that has a working camera.  So sad..  One Camera for all of us!

By the time I got there for my schedule (I was scheduled 5:00-7:00 PM), it wasn't crowded anymore, and it was easy and fast, you'll just have to fall in line.  I hope to receive my I.D after 30 days.

Andi's Pictorial for the Recital

Woke up early again today for Andi's class pictorial for the recital.  They're so adorable!!!
I can see that even the kids loved it 'cause everyone was posing and smiling and having a really good time at the pictorial,  parents are not allowed to go inside, it will be too chaotic!  Hahaha!

I love love their costume!!

It's gonna be a tiring week, she'll be rehearsing all week..

Proud Daddy!

You can definitely see the proud smile of hubby!  Good job kuya!!!

We don't really expect our kids to be one of the best, we just let them do what they want and then we'll support them.  'Cause it's really hard to impel something on kids that they don't like, you'll just end up fighting!
That's why we're so thankful to have our precious kids, they excel on their own little ways without being stressed (on both the kids and us!).  We know they're all having fun, as we can see in the results of all their activities.  We just hope they'll continue doing their best and still have fun..

Pre-school Culminating Activity 2011 (NDGM)

We joined the graduation of the Kinder 2 because Kuya Kian got a Gold Medal for Best in Oral Reading!  So proud of him!  His goal for Kinder 2, to get all the Gold Medals he could possibly get!  Especially Best in Math, now he wants to enroll at Kumon.  He’s the best!  And he chose his dad to go up the stage to receive the medal, such a proud daddy!

Andi's First Ballet Recital

My Little Andi LOVES ballet!  She liked it so much that she asked us to enroll her to a ballet school.  Great, now I don't have to force her into doing something..  The nearest ballet school we found is at Halili Cruz School of Ballet in Quezon Avenue.  We only go there on Saturdays because she has school on Wednesdays and Fridays, I just wish we can attend ballet thrice a week on summer 'cause I know it will her happy but it's really far..  It makes us feel happy and proud too, seeing our daughter dance and loving every minute of it!
Anyway, on March 30, Andi will join her first ballet recital!!!  Since she moved up her level in ballet, she can join the recital.  So this week we'll be very busy.. But it's sad though, we were not able to attend the past 2 rehearsals because I didn't read her schedule.. :(  Thank God, hubby read it this morning so we were able to attend the rehearsals today! Whew!~
This is our first time to join a recital and I find it a bit pricey... It costs us about P8,250.00, for the recital fee, costume, advertisement (book) and extra tickets.  I heard some of the parents are not going to avail the pictures for the book as it costs P1,500 and up, but since it’s Andi’s first time we just had to get one!  There’s just one problem, we have to go to there tomorrow at 8:00 am to choose a seat for the extra tickets that we bought, but tomorrow is also Kian’s awarding and Hubby’s meeting.  Waaaa!!!  But we have to go there to get a good seat…  Pano na.. ??
Sunday is Andi’s pictorial for the class picture and the recital, Monday another practice.  Busy, busy, busy!  And the kid’s are still going to school.  April is the official summer break for us, until then, busy, busy, busy!

Diaper: Pampers or Huggies?

Since we had Kian, I've tried lots of diapers!  We've been through a lot by just finding the right diaper that won't leave a rash, will absorb lots of wee-wee (meaning it will last long), won't cut the skin, has non-sticky tapes and affordable.  I noticed that plastic diapers can cut your precious' baby's skin, so plastics are a no-no.  Affordability, they won’t be if you want a good diaper.
That’s when a friend recommended Huggies Dry Comfort making sure to buy the red one.  So, we tried it and loved it!  It lasts longer, its paper not plastic so it didn’t hurt my baby’s skin most of all he didn’t get any rashes.
We haven’t changed diapers ever since we had Khloe and I noticed the new Pampers Baby Dry at a Kid’s Bazaar, I think at Megamall.  Didn’t listen much though, I just wanted to get a freebie!  Hahaha!  So I tried them anyway, the first time I touched the diaper, I had a good feeling about it, it was soft and thin just like a diaper cloth unlike the big and bulky Huggies.  It's also paper  so it won't hurt baby's skin and has a non-sticky tape so it's easy to re-fasten, it has a nice print too.  But most of all, it takes away baby’s poop and wee-wee away from the skin!  That’s why you’ll feel the wetness outside the diaper, but when you touch it inside there’s none!
Now, we’ve switched to a much better diaper.  Pampers!

Barrio Fiesta!

Thanks to Ebay, we had a discounted dinner at Barrio Fiesta.  Yummy!!! Hubby and Kian' favorite!  Actually, it's everybody's favorite!  I ate too much.. Huhuhu!  And we still have 2 coupons left, so we'll be eating more later.  We bought a P700.00 worth of voucher for only P350.00, you'll pay P120.00 to ebay and the remaining balance at the Barrio Fiesta Branch.  I bought it 'cause I thought you can order the combos but not.  You can only order from their a la cart menu.  The vouchers will expire on March 13, so I guess we'll be eating a lot this weekend.. But it's okay, we enjoyed the food!  And tomorrow I'm scheduled for my 3rd  and last Radio Frequency at Envie Slim and Sculpt.

I forgot to take pictures upon arrival of the food 'cause everybody was starving!

Billiards

We really miss playing billiards, we haven’t played in quite a while.. I think the last time we played was December 2009.  It’s our favorite past time, it’s actually how me and my husband met, at a Billiard hall in Caloocan.  Here’s the real story, it was way back then when billiards was such a hit among Pinoys.  Hubby’s really good at it, while I was trying to learn.  We always hang out at this place in Caloocan called On the snap, a common friend introduced us not knowing that he liked me then ..  We became very close but just as friends, ‘cause he’s really funny, thoughtful and really caring for a friend.. Okay, I didn’t get the hint.. So stupid! Hahaha!  But then one day, he just told me that he liked me.. ♥♥♥  That’s how we started.. Cute!  J

So much about our love story, hubby asked me to go play billiards at Rolling Stone, in Morato.  I miss playing billiards and their Crispy pork “tenga” so we went!  I love hanging out with hubby ‘cause it still feels like we’re just bf/gf.  It’s just unfair that he’s still good at billiards while I looked like a stupid girl with a stick?  Hahahaha!  Anyway, it was fun!  We didn’t even notice the time, we went home around 3:00 AM.  Thanks Yaya!

The yummy crispy pork tenga! We had 2 beers each and a ripe mango shake!

JAPAN TRAGEDY!

Let's all PRAY for everyone in JAPAN and all the other countries that's affected with the tragedy..

As the world reels in the wake of deadly natural disasters and other tragedies, many turn to faith for comfort and guidance. Here are prayers from several world traditions that offer solace, healing and support.

The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?

...For he will hide me in his shelter
in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
he will set me high on a rock.

I believe that I shall see
the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
