My 30 Day Workout Challenge

Yehey!!  I finished/survived my 30 day workout challenge!!!  Whew!  Ang galing ko(yes, I'm proud!!).  Although, It was really, really hard, that there were days that my body can't take it anymore but I still went through it, and at the last week of the challenge I had flu but still went with it.  Surprisingly, it didn't get worse, with water therapy and lots a vitamin C!
Had some interruptions from the kids too, "mommy, can you get this" or "mommy, can you help me with this", all in between my workouts!  Took me not more than 10 seconds to obey them though, just so they won't bother me again!

My Measurements:
                          Before                    After
Arms                   9 in.                         9 in
Waist                  26 in                       25 in
Hips                   32 1/2 in                  31 in
Thighs                20 in                        19 in

I'm soo happy with the results, plus, I feel stronger and my body's more firm.  I found a new way of training, I felt motivated and inspired to train everyday and I love how sore I am the next day, just means I did the right routine with the proper form (well, I hope)..  Just had some problems with my diet, wasn't eating healthy all the time, it was hard to resist sweets and rice and pasta! :D
I will definitely do this again mid January, after all the Holiday celebrations so, maybe just maybe, I can have some discipline with my diet just for a month.  But that doesn't mean I'll stop working out before that, I'll still workout 5x a week..  With all the celebrations this Holiday season, kailangan i-burn lahat, agad-agad!! :D
Thank you so much Lisa Marie of BodyRock.tv!!!  I'm more confident and proud with my body, sabi nga ni hubby, hindi lahat kaya yung ginagawa mo, mag workout 5x a week, intense pa! :D  So, I realized, oo nga.. there are just a few people na I know who goes to the gym pa..  Ibang klaseng motivation daw meron ako to workout at home..  But every time my family would see me working out, "may contest?" hehehe!
I'm not doing this to be skinny,
Thanks hubby, for the support!  Mmwah!
Oh, and yes, I posted a picture of mine, because I worked hard for it, I earned it and I feel good!  Hey, I'm a mom of three :D

Day 19 on My 30 Day Challenge

I’m on day 19 of my 30 day challenge, I noticed that I got stronger!  I used to do squats with 10 lbs on my barbel and now, I use 35 lbs (including the barbel handle weight)!  I love this challenge, 1 more week and I'm done.  I just hope it makes a big change on my tummy..  I still eat like crap on my rest days, thought I deserved it! :D
I love the way Lisa-Marie encourages and gives support while working out, it's as if she's really talking to me!!
3rd week, more muscles in my arms! :P  I used to hate arm muscles, but now I am loving them!!  I don't believe in fad diets in getting rid of flabby arms (unless you're aiming to be skinny anorexic!) , I think with proper diet and exercise you’ll achieve well toned arms .   I'll post some of her arm workout soon..
On the last day of the 3rd week, it was just cardio, cardio, cardio, for 40 minutes!!  I find too boring, plus I don't have a treadmill and I hate using jump ropes (I know, it's crazy and stupid but I hate it when the ropes hit me.. ).  So, I opted to do Insanity Pure Cardio (it's been a while).  I was shocked that it kind of got easier and I got faster!  I always end up dead tired after this workout but this time, I had a good time doing it.  Although, I'm still having a hard time doing push ups but I still try to finish it, and I take really short breaks/breaths when I need to.
If I get a decent result from this challenge, I will post my before and after picture and my size too..  (crossing my fingers!!)

Volvo Trucks - The Epic Split feat. Van Damme

I am speechless, gave me goose bumps..  Van Damme, 53, performs the splits between two moving trucks.  No tricks, confirms Volvo, the stunt was genuine aside from the digital removal of some safety equipment.

The live test was set up to demonstrate the precision and directional stability of Volvo Dynamic Steering -- a world first technology that makes the new Volvo FM easier to drive.

Filmed in Spain on a closed-off landing field at sunrise in one take.

Crossfit Experience with Women's Health Pop Up Studio

I signed up for a free trial at CFMNL Pasig thru Women's Health Magazine's Pop Up Studio.  It was the last leg of their Pop up Studio.  I know, it's far, I wanted to try this workout for so long so I grabbed the chance.
I already had an idea of what workout they do, kinda' like my routine at home, burpees, lunges, push ups, sit ups and so on.  I do the same thing but this time it was harder, 'cause I tried not to stop (there were lots of people watching, hehehe!) and I wanted to push myself to see how far I can go, didn't want to waste my time there.
I had a great time, learned the proper form of each workout we did with Coach Mike's 30 minutes WoDs (Workout of the Day) includes sit-ups, lunges, squats, push-ups and burpees.  My legs were sore for 3 days, so it was time and energy well spent!  Hubby was there to support!!  Thanks, babe!
Yehey!!!
My freebies from Women's Health magazine, Carbtrim and Enervon.  Thank you!!!

Our Mind Museum Experience

I planned a birthday celebration for my eldest at The Mind Museum, he's into science lately so I thought it would be a good idea to visit.  We bought our tickets online, adults costs P600 while children up to college costs P450, the public school students and teachers has a special price of P150 each.  They also have an all day pass which is P750.
They have time slots for visiting 9am-12nn / 12nn-3pm / 3pm-6pm, they are closed on Mondays.  We went there on a Saturday for the 3pm schedule.

We went there early of course, we're from Caloocan and the Mind Museum was at Taguig, good thing they have a playground that has lots of bubbles and slides, that all of us enjoyed!

Bubbles everywhere!

The Mind Museum has a narrative presentation of Science that people of all ages will definitely enjoy.  There's just lots of things to do there, you get to "experience" science yourself and with some help from the "the mind movers: resident scientists".

"The Story of Science in the Philippines"

"The Mind Museum concept is uniquely Filipino. Our exhibition takes off from a narrative that presents science in over 250 interactive exhibits through five interconnected stories. The exhibition spans nature in scale, from the smallest thing in nature to the largest and everything in between: AtomEarthLifeUniverse, and Technology.

Almost all the exhibits in The Mind Museum are originally designed by Filipino artists and fabricators who worked closely with scientists here and abroad to execute science principles or facts clearly and beautifully. "

My Dream Job in a Glass of Fresh Milk

I was invited at one of the school tours of Jolly Cow at Angelicum College, Quezon City.  This was my first time to be invited as a blogger, so I was so excited!  Luckily, The Peach Kitchen was there to help me.. (Thanks, Peach!).  Jolly Cow launched their Fresh Milk campaign to help kids get into drinking fresh milk everyday to help them achieve their dreams, promote proper nutrition that will help kids to become successful and to teach the kids the value of recycling.
They had Wanlu and his puppets to entertain them and a puppet workshop for the students of Angelicum College.
Wanlu and Niccolo
Wanlu had lots of activities for the kids and the teachers, the kids from their class really had fun.
Then, the puppet workshop, the kids brought socks, rubber bands and coloring materials for the activity.
busy kids..

While everyone was enjoying the activities, I brought my little girl Khloe at the Jolly Cow sampling booth, I asked her to try it and she loved it!  Maybe because of its creamy taste.  Yum!

The kids were awarded with a personalized tumbler, it was really cute!!!  It had their face on them and the profession they wanted when they grow up, and a bag of goodies, awesome!
And we received items from Jolly Cow, thanks Ms Abby Castelo for the invite!!  I really appreciate it, my daughter had so much fun!
Jolly Cow Frsh Milk, Non-Fat Milk and Condensada
Since I became conscious about our food intake, the kids growing up so fast and with a busy schedule at school, I'm still in search of a dependable food/drink for them.  I wouldn't want their health to be at risk while they're doing their activities.  I want something good for their health while they enjoy eating or drinking them.  Jolly Cow got my attention, it has a yummy, creamy taste compared to other Fresh Milk that my kids love.
As for me, being a hands-on mom, and while doing my workouts at home, I can't get sick!  I'm not allowed, so a good source of  Calcium is needed in my diet.  Good thing, Jolly Cow has Fresh Milk that comes in non-fat too! Yey! Their milk is sourced from Germany.  It contains 3.5% of fat content which is higher than other brands which make Jolly Cow Fresh Milk tastes better.  It is the fat milk that makes Fresh Milk taste good.

Calcium Deficiency - is caused by lack or not enough calcium intakes based on the required dietary allowance for calcium.  Calcium requirement differs for gender and age.

Effects of Calcium Deficiency for kids:
  • Height is smaller than other kids of same age.
  • Thin body that other kids of same age.
  • Tooth Decay.
  • Frequent absences at school due to various health problems.
  • Unable to excel in various extra-curricular activities (matamlay, mahina ang pangangatawan at nagiging lampa)
Importance of Drinking Fresh Milk:
  • Milk helps kids cope during growth spurts.
  • Milk helps provide complete nutrition during puberty.
  • Milk contains protein, which helps to rebuild muscles.
  • Milk helps kids to get smarter.
  • Milk helps kids to get stronger.
  • Milk is great source of Calcium which is needed for better bone and teeth development.
Why Fresh Milk?
  • 100% Natural.  It only undergoes a process that lengthens its shelf life.  No chemical or fortification is made.
  • Contains all nutrients of milk like calcium, protein, carbohydrate, and etc.  that are good for the body.
  • Convenient.  Easy to prepare.
  • Consistent in quality.  Unlike with powdered milk, it always depends on how you mix it with water.  The amount of milk powder and water affects the consistency of milk.
